Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival in Errachidia → Merzouga

Your 4 Days Sahara Tour From Errachidia begins the moment you arrive at Errachidia Airport or when we meet you at your accommodation. After a warm welcome, you head south toward the rolling dunes of Merzouga. The road follows wide landscapes of palm groves and rocky plateaus, giving you your first taste of the Sahara’s remoteness.  Upon arrival in Merzouga, settle into your hotel and enjoy a peaceful evening as the desert sky begins to glow with the soft colors of sunset.

Day 2:Merzouga Desert – Khamlia – Seasonal Lake – Palm Grove

After breakfast, the day unfolds with a full exploration of the Merzouga region. Start by heading off-road toward an old kohl mine used by locals for generations. From there, continue deeper into the desert to meet nomadic families living in traditional tents, where you’ll share a cup of Berber tea and learn about their daily routines shaped by the shifting sands.

Next, drive to Khamlia, a village known for its Gnaoua heritage. The rhythmic drumming and soulful songs rooted in centuries-old African traditions—offer one of the area’s most memorable cultural encounters.

In the afternoon, wander through a palm grove before visiting Merzouga’s seasonal wild lake, often visited by migratory birds, especially flamingos when water levels are high.
As the golden hour approaches, mount your camel and ride across the dunes, stopping at a panoramic point for a magnificent sunset. The night is spent in a luxury desert camp, accompanied by Berber drumming beneath a star-filled sky.

Day 3:Merzouga → Rissani → Erfoud → Tinghir → Dades Valley

Wake early to enjoy a desert sunrise one of the Sahara’s most magical moments. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4, then begin the journey north.

Your first stop is Rissani, once the capital of Tafilalet and still home to one of the region’s most vibrant souks, especially on market days. Walk through stalls filled with spices, dates, fabrics, and traditional goods before continuing to Erfoud. Here, you’ll visit a fossil workshop where ancient marine life is transformed into decorative objects and polished stone.

The scenery gradually changes as you drive through Touroug and Tinjdad’s palm groves. Soon, towering red cliffs signal your arrival at the Todra Gorges. Take your time to walk between the canyon walls and admire how the river carved its path through the mountains.

After lunch, continue toward Boumalne Dades, entering a valley famous for its unusual rock formations known as the “monkey fingers.” A final viewpoint overlooking the winding Dades Valley road makes for an unforgettable photo stop. Dinner and overnight in a charming hotel.

Day 4:Dades Valley → Rose Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech

Your final day of the 4 Days Sahara Tour From Errachidia begins with a scenic drive through the Rose Valley, where every spring locals celebrate their blooming harvest in a vibrant festival. Continue through the vast palm groves of Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate, a city known as the “Hollywood of Africa” due to the many films shot in its studios.

The journey continues to the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has served as a backdrop for classics like Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. Wander through its narrow passages and mud-brick towers to appreciate its historical and cinematic significance.

After the visit, the road climbs through the High Atlas Mountains and the winding Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Enjoy several stops for photos and lunch before descending into the plains of Marrakech. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation or the airport, marking the end of a richly varied Moroccan journey.
