Itinerary

Day 1:Agadir – Taliouine – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Begin your 7 Days Tour From Agadir to Casablanca, driving inland through the aromatic argan forests where goats famously perch on tree branches. Stop in Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital, and visit a women’s cooperative to learn about the delicate process of harvesting this prized spice.

Continue to Taznakht, a vibrant Berber village renowned for its handwoven rugs, and immerse yourself in local craftsmanship. Next, explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Ben Haddou, a stunning clay ksar whose alleys have been the backdrop for films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Drive to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s “Hollywood of Africa,” and explore the Atlas Film Studios before heading to the lush palmeraie of Skoura. End the day in the dramatic Dades Gorge, where towering red cliffs glow in the sunset. Overnight in a charming guesthouse overlooking the valley.

Day 2:Dades Gorge – Tinghir – Merzouga

After breakfast, traverse the “Monkey Fingers” rock formations en route to Todra Gorge, a breathtaking 300-meter canyon flanked by towering cliffs and emerald palms. Enjoy a riverside lunch while soaking in the serene atmosphere.

Journey onwards to Merzouga, where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi await. Swap wheels for camelback and enjoy a sunset trek across the vast desert landscape. Arrive at a luxury desert camp where a traditional Berber feast and drum circle under the stars set the stage for a magical night.

Day 3:Merzouga Desert Exploration

Rise before dawn to witness the desert sunrise, casting a warm glow across the sand dunes. Enjoy a hearty breakfast before venturing on a 4×4 off-road safari to explore hidden corners of the Sahara.

Visit Khamlia Village, home to the Gnawa community, and be captivated by their soulful music and dance. Meet nomadic Berbers in their goat-hair tents, share mint tea, and learn about their resilient lifestyle. Keep an eye out for fossilized remains of ancient sea creatures scattered across the desert floor. Return to Merzouga for an evening of relaxation at your desert hotel.

Day 4:Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Fes

Depart the desert and journey to Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty. Wander its lively markets and admire the vibrant local life. Continue along the Ziz Valley, dotted with thousands of date palms, stopping for a traditional Berber lunch in Midelt.

Ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing cedar forests where Barbary macaques roam freely. Pause in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” with its alpine-style chalets and manicured gardens. Descend into the medieval city of Fes for your overnight stay.

Day 5:Fes Guided Tour

Explore the labyrinthine streets of Fes el-Bali, the world’s largest medieval medina. Discover Al-Qarawiyyin University, Chouara Tannery, and the ornate Bou Inania Medersa. Visit the Merinid Tombs for panoramic views and the call to prayer echoing across centuries-old rooftops.

Day 6:Fes – Volubilis – Meknes – Rabat

Travel to Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved Roman ruins, and stroll among mosaic floors and grand arches. Visit the whitewashed pilgrimage town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, then continue to Meknes to explore Bab Mansour and Qara Prison. Arrive in Rabat for an evening at leisure near the Atlantic coast.

Day 7:Rabat – Casablanca

Discover Rabat’s highlights, including Kasbah des Oudaias, Hassan Tower, and the Mohammed V Mausoleum.
