Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Boumalne

Your adventure starts with a morning pickup from your hotel in Marrakech. The drive takes you through the High Atlas Mountains and the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering amazing views of Berber villages and stunning landscapes. Stop to explore the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO site that has been in many movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Continue to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gateway to the Desert,” where you can visit Atlas Studios, Morocco’s film capital. Then, head through the fragrant Rose Valley, famous for its harvest festival. Arrive in Boumalne Dades by evening for dinner and stay in a cozy riad or hotel between the mountains.

Day 2Boumalne – Tinghir – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, take in the stunning rock formations of Dades Valley before heading toward the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs frame a crystal-clear river. Take some time to walk along the gorge and capture its awe-inspiring beauty.

Later, continue to Erfoud, known as the “fossil capital” of Morocco, before reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Swap your vehicle for camels and set off into the dunes of Erg Chebbi, watching the colors of the sand shift with the setting sun.

Arrive at your luxury desert camp, where a warm welcome, traditional Berber music, and a night under a glittering sky await you. Enjoy dinner around the campfire before resting in your tent amidst the silence of the desert.

Day 3Merzouga – Nomad Families – Khamlia – Palm Groves – Merzouga Lake

Rise early to witness one of nature’s most breathtaking sights — sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast, ride your camels back to Merzouga and meet your driver for a full day of exploration in the desert region.

Discover the life of the nomadic Berbers, visiting their tents and sharing tea while learning about their traditions. Visit the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnaoua people, where you’ll enjoy their rhythmic music and dance. After lunch, wander through lush palm groves and see the tranquil Merzouga Lake, often visited by flamingos.

Day 4:Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

After breakfast, leave the desert behind and travel north toward Fes. Stop first at Rissani, an ancient trading center known for its bustling souk especially lively on market days. Continue to Erfoud to visit one of its fossil workshops, a fascinating window into Morocco’s geological past.

Drive along the scenic Ziz Valley, stopping for photos of its lush oasis views. Enjoy lunch in Midelt, a charming town between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. Later, visit the Cedar Forest near Azrou, home to playful Barbary macaques, and then continue to Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco” for its European architecture and cool mountain air.

Arrive in Fes by evening, where your unforgettable 4 Days Desert Tour to Fes From Marrakech comes to an end, leaving you with lasting memories of Morocco’s natural beauty and cultural soul.
