Itinerary

Day 1Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Merzouga

After breakfast at your riad or hotel in Fes, your English-speaking driver will meet you early in the morning (around 7:00 AM in winter and 8:00 AM in summer) to begin your journey south toward the Sahara. The road first winds through the fertile Saiss plains before climbing into the cool cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through the charming towns of Ifrane and Azrou. Keep your camera ready — this region is home to the famous Barbary apes.

Continue toward Midelt, where you’ll stop for lunch surrounded by scenic mountain views. The route then descends through the Ziz Valley, lined with thousands of palm trees and ancient kasbahs, before reaching Erfoud and finally the edge of the desert in Merzouga.

As the sun begins to set, prepare for a truly magical camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes. The colors of the sand shift from gold to rose as dusk falls — a spectacle that stays with you forever. Day 2Merzouga → Rissani → Tinghir → Boumalne

Day 3Boumalne → Skoura Oasis → Aït Ben Haddou → Marrakech
