Itinerary

Day 1:Agadir – Taroudant – Taliouine – Foum Zguid

Begin your 5 Days Tour from Agadir to Zagora and drive east through the fertile Sous Valley. Stop in Taroudant, often called the “Grandmother of Marrakech,” for its picturesque city walls, bustling souks, and local crafts. Wander among the vibrant streets where jewelry, carpets, and traditional leather goods reflect centuries of Berber heritage.

Continue to Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital. Visit a local cooperative and learn about the meticulous harvesting of this prized spice, often called “red gold.” Savor a freshly brewed saffron tea while taking in the serene surroundings. Later, continue to Foum Zguid, a quiet desert town surrounded by palm groves and dramatic landscapes. Overnight in a local guesthouse or desert-style accommodation.

Day 2:Foum Zguid – Iriki Lake – Erg Chegaga Dunes

Depart Foum Zguid in the morning for a remarkable drive through Morocco’s remote southern desert. Cross vast plains and reach Iriki Lake, a seasonal salt lake that offers striking contrasts against the ochre desert sands. Pause to enjoy the unique scenery and capture panoramic photographs of this almost otherworldly landscape.

In the afternoon, arrive at the iconic Erg Chegaga dunes, a remote and pristine section of the Sahara. Here, camels await for a sunset trek across the golden sand, allowing you to experience the desert’s serene beauty. Reach your luxury desert camp for dinner under a sky scattered with countless stars. Sleep in traditional Berber-style tents, immersed in the stillness of the Sahara.

Day 3:Erg Chegaga – Tamgroute – Zagora

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over Erg Chegaga’s undulating dunes, a truly unforgettable spectacle. After a hearty breakfast, travel south to M’Hamid, the last town before the vast stretches of the desert. Along the way, stop in Tamgroute, known for its historic pottery workshops and the centuries-old Koranic library. Explore the medina, watch skilled artisans at work, and perhaps take home a handmade clay piece as a memento.

Continue to Zagora, a town steeped in Saharan culture. Visit the palm groves, stroll along the winding streets, and immerse yourself in the rhythm of daily desert life. Overnight in a comfortable hotel or guesthouse.

Day 4:Zagora – Agdz – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate

Depart Zagora and follow the scenic Draa Valley, dotted with lush palm groves and traditional kasbahs. Stop in Agdz to explore the local area and enjoy a leisurely lunch surrounded by the valley’s natural beauty.

Continue to the legendary Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has served as the backdrop for many famous films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Wander through its mud-brick alleys, climb to its towers, and imagine the history of the ancient caravan trade. Drive onward to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s “Hollywood of Africa,” for an overnight stay in a riad or hotel with comfortable amenities.

Day 5:Ouarzazate – Taznakht – Agadir

On the final day, journey back toward Agadir, stopping in Taznakht, a village famed for its vibrant Berber carpets and rugs. Explore local workshops and admire the intricate patterns woven using natural dyes. Continue through Taliouine once more, enjoying the fragrant saffron fields and local scenery.

Return to Agadir in the afternoon, concluding your 5 Days Tour from Agadir to Zagora. Depart with memories of golden deserts, timeless kasbahs, and the warm hospitality of southern Morocco.
